Jul-Ki Seok received the B.S. and M.S. and Ph.D degrees from Seoul National University, Korea, in 1992, and 1998, respectively, all in electrical engineering.

He joined the FA research center in the Samsung Electronics as a Senior Engineer for 1998 to 2001. On March 2001, he was appointed as a Professor of Power Conversion Lab., Yeungnam University. His research interests revolve around the problem of high performance electric machine drives, sensolress control of AC machines, nonlinear system identification, and the renewable energy conversion/generation.

From 2008 to 2009, he was a Visiting Researcher with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Dr. Seok is a secretray of the IEEE IAS Industrial Drives Committee (IDC) and an Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. Industry Applications / Industry Applications Magazine and a member of the Editorial Board of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Electric Power Applications. He also serves as the Chair of the IEEE IAS-Industrial Drive Committee (IDC) Paper Award Committee.
